A hurricane names Storm Daniel hits Libya northeastern badly, causing insurmountable losses of lives and property. Two significant dams burst due to the heavy rain, flooding already-underwater districts. There have sadly been over 2,000 fatalities and close to 10,000 persons are still missing.
Red Cross employee Tamer Ramadan told reporters in Switzerland that a large number of individuals are missing. At least 145 Egyptians are reported to have perished in one city in Libya named Tobruk.
Up to 6,000 people are missing in Derna, another city that was severely damaged. It’s a major catastrophe, according to the local health minister, and numerous homes have been destroyed.
There are too many dead bodies and the flood has rendered hospitals in Derna inoperable. Because there is no more room, they were forced to leave dead bodies outside the locations where they keep them.
Due of the inability to communicate with their family members, people in Derna are extremely concerned. One person, Ayah, mentioned that she had two cousins there, although she is unsure of their well-being.
Eight members of Emad Milad’s family perished in the flood. He claimed it is a major catastrophe, and they are praying for better days ahead.
As Storm Daniel hits Libya, several other devastating calamities have been witnessed across the world, such as global wildfires and extremely hot temperatures. The storm was exacerbated by the unusually warm sea near Libya.
The fact that Libya has long-standing political issues makes handling this kind of catastrophe more difficult. Numerous bridges and residential areas were destroyed as a result of the dams collapsing.
With funding and rescue personnel, the United States and other nations are attempting to assist. They wish to assist the suffering citizens of Libya.
